The Crown Inn is located in the peaceful village of Elton in the heart of Cambrideshire. It is a traditional coaching inn offering excellent accommodation combined with an excellent restaurant and bar. Elton is arguably the most sought after village in Cambridgeshire. Nearby is the River Nene, reputedly the inspiration for the well known children’s novel, Wind in the Willows, which is also one of England’s most popular boating rivers. Eton Mill and Lock is a short walk from the front door over the village green. Just beyond are beautiful walks through meadows with an array of wildlife. Footpaths are clearly marked. There are some beautiful villages nearby and the ancient market town of Oundle is a 10 minute drive West. Oundle.To the east of Elton, Peterborough is a 15 minute drive and has large departments stores and businesses as well as a beautiful cathedral, greyhound racing stadium, outdoor swimming pool and main GNER rail connections to Edinburgh (3 hours) and London (45 minutes).The pub, which is featured in the Michelin Restaurant Guide, The Michelin 'Eating Out in Pubs & Inns 2007' Guide and Alistair Sawday's 'Pubs and Inns of England & Wales' Guide, has it's own 'Golden Crown' ale, Greene King IPA and other guest ales.Please Note: Non-smoking.
