Gowbarrow Lodge lies beside Ullswater; a short distance from the popular waterfall; Aira Force. There are many activities available nearby; including walking; pony trekking; fishing and boating. For those who enjoy golf there is a driving range at Penrith and numerous golf courses within easy reach.Ullswater 'Steamers' cruise the lake; and are popular with walkers who take the cruise from Glenridding to Howtown on the East shore and walk back on the footpath along the shore and through woodland. From here the scenery is magnificent; with views across to Helvellyn. However; just cruising on the Lake is a very relaxing way of viewing the scenery; which becomes even more magnificent in the Autumn.Other nearby attractions include the historic house and gardens of Dalemain and Rheged; the new Upland Kingdom Discover Centre;Rookin House activity centre. The whole of Lakeland including Keswick; Ambleside and Windermere are all within easy reach. A little further afield is the Eden Valley and Hadrian's Wall.PLEASE NOTE: Check In is from 14:00 & Check Out is by 10:00. We are a no smoking accommodation. Regrettably we cannot accept pets.
