The hotel is one of the most complete and picturesque of the old half-timbered houses of Montgomeryshire and a fine example of the central chimney timber-framed houses which are characteristic of Mid Wales. The general appearance of the house suggests a mid 17th Century dwelling, but it has been established that the house was in existence before 1600.
The hall is surrounded by the stunning countryside of mid Wales and is the perfect base from which to explore the region. The area boasts many attractions and amenities. The Welsh coastline is only a short drive away, whilst the larger towns of Shrewsbury, Chester and the West Midlands are within easy reach.
Many of the rooms have recently been refurbished to a high standard and offer stunning views over the grounds and the breathtaking countryside beyond. The hotel has 17 en-suite bedrooms with modern facilities, eleven rooms in the Hotel and six rooms in the Coach House. In the main house the rooms have an individual character and display many original features of this beautiful period house. All these rooms are non-smoking. The ground-floor rooms in the Coach House offer the facility for guests to bring their dogs on holiday should they wish.
Whether you join us for an evening meal, or to stay for a holiday, you will receive a warm welcome and the best service to ensure that your visit to Maesmawr Hall Hotel is a truly memorable one.
