A locally famous, stunning old farmhouse pub in the centre of the beautiful village of Marbury, right on the village green. The Swan has a bright warm lounge bar with guest ales, and an immaculate restaurant with open fire serving outstanding local produce. Off-season is "Lunch for a Fiver" (two courses) and "Dinner for a Tenner" (two courses & coffee). In the summer there is a creative country cuisine‚ a la carte menu. There's a large beer garden, or you can sit on the green and admire the 200 year old oak tree.
There are some wonderful local walks - the views from ancient Norman church across the lake, and the Cheshire Plains from the top of Marbury Hill, are idyllic. The Inn is only half a mile from the Llangollen canal which makes it very popular with boaters. For an evening meal you're strongly advised to book a week ahead, since landlord Rob Adam only allows one reservation per table and the restaurant is full every night from April through to October. Highly recommended!
