This tiny but intriguing ancient building is the only remaining evidence of the former importance of Newtown - once a bustling and thriving community, now a peaceful nature reserve. In 2008 we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Old Town Hall being given to the National Trust by Ferguson's Gang - a group of anonymous and masked women who raised funds to save "traditional England". There is a new exhibition about the Gang and a programme of special events. Please see www.nationaltrust.org.uk/isleofwight for further details.
