Darwin Lake has 16 luxury 4 Star holiday cottages, set around the lake in 10 acre woodland grounds which you are welcome to explore. Each modern stone built holiday cottage and the Darwin Lake complex itself is a purpose designed small holiday village. Designed with the holidaymaker in mind to ensure you have everything you need on hand, for a relaxing break in the popular Peak District holiday location.
There are cottages sleeping from 2 to 8 guests and up to 92 people can be accommodated in total. Cottages are kept exceptionally well and feature contemporary interior design with a luxury feel. Kitchens and bathrooms are modern and well equipped, all linen included along with central heating and hot water provided free of charge. There is private parking and we are half an hour from the M1. A brand newly built range of cottages is now available, short breaks and late offers catered for.
Darwin Lake is surrounded by Forestry land & sits between craggy moorland with lovely panoramic views, and the Derwent Valley World Heritage Site. Less than 6 miles away are Chatsworth Hall, Haddon Hall, Peak Steam Railway, Matlock Bath's Heights of Abraham, Arkwright's Mill, and Gullivers Kingdom theme park. A little farther afield are Alton Towers theme park, and Carsington Water, a highly popular watersports and wildlife centre with cycle hire & restaurant.
Riding, golf, and Matlock's shops, galleries, Inns and restaurants 3 miles. Village shops and good pubs 2 miles, local Inn within walking distance. Guests are welcome to use the indoor heated swimming pool & sauna at Knockerdown Farm near Carsington Water.
There is something for everyone from the most active to the more sedate, children are most welcome at Darwin Lake.
