Restaurants in Wanstead
Hadley House features high in the Wanstead popular eaterie stakes. It certainly looks inviting – a pretty patio out the front overlooking the park, and inside, cheery pink drapes and sunshine-yellow walls evoke a sense of cheery comfort. Local artists' work (for sale) adds to the neighbourhood restaurant feel. It's the kind of place you'd happily go and eat at alone. Both the daily-changing lunch and dinner menus list a tempting array of homemade dishes such as roast beef on roasted veal kidney and a shallot tart tatin with potato pave and red wine jus. Specials are written up on a chalk board, and in summer, tapas are served all day. The Sunday roasts are fantastic.
