Housed in a former printing press opposite one of George IV's most impressive extravagances, the Royal Pavilion, Ha! Ha! Brighton crowning glory is its location. Inside, the decor's fantastic. Centre stage in the spacious entrance bar is a quirky chandelier, off-set by plush red velvet booths against the back wall, and inviting chocolate leather sofas strategically placed in front of large arch windows. A few steps lead up to the multi-coloured canteen packed with chunky wooden tables in front of an open kitchen. A generous menu covers all the major bases - comfort food (fantastic house burger, bangers and bubble & squeak), figure friendly (chargrilled chicken, mint and mango salad), fish (mussels, fish cakes), and proper meals (pork medallions in a cream Dijon sauce, duck with caramelised orange sauce). All good, fresh stuff.
