Attraction in Guildford
Guildford House is a fascinating 17th century town house and is now Guildford Borough Council’s art gallery showing selections from the Borough’s collection and varied temporary exhibitions.
The house was built in 1660 for John Child, who was three times Mayor of Guildford. From the mid 1840’s it became business premises. It opened as Guildford’s Art Gallery in 1959.
As well as the Borough’s collection, which features a large selection of John Russell’s, a Guildford born artist. There are a large number of temporary exhibitions.
The gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4.45pm
