In the heart of the beautiful conservation village of North Bovey, with its old granite pack horse bridges and thatched cottages lies GATE HOUSE. As you open the gate into the large country garden where roses and lavender and heather scent the air, you will catch your first glimpse of this charming medieval hall house with its thatched roof, quaint windows tucked under the eaves, and large old oak door.

This Grade II Devonshire hall house is very special indeed. Not simply because it has witnessed the passing of twenty five English monarchs, plagues and civil wars, but because it is a much loved home where guests can experience ancient history alongside modern comforts. As you enter through the old thatched porchway into the oak beamed sitting rooms with their huge granite fireplaces, you can begin to relax... maybe with a pot of tea in front of the log fire in winter. If you prefer to soak up the sunshine and magnificent views, take tea by the swimming pool.
The choice is yours…
