The Royal Sportsman is Porthmadog's premier Hotel, the only full service quality Hotel in Porthmadog with star ratings awarded by both the Welsh Tourist Board and the AA. The Royal Sportsman has a fine reputation as a family owned and managed Hotel with a strong Mediterranean ethos in an informal yet professional environment. In June 2009, the hotel was awarded an AA Rosette for the quality of its food. Customers regularly describe the family atmosphere as being home from home combining comfort, warmth and Welsh hospitality. It is family friendly, from babies to teenagers, to stay in and also eat. You can also include family pets in your stay. The Hotel has extensively been refurbished after a decade of neglect. The hotel has en suite rooms on three floors. The hotel has no lift, but there is assistance with your bags on arrival. For those who have difficulty in walking or are disabled there are ground floor rooms. These adjoin the main building by a very short covered walkway. All public facilities are also on the ground floor. The hotel is non smoking.
