Penally Abbey, is quite simply, one of Pembrokeshire's loveliest listed country houses. Elegant but not imposing, its very name conjures up an air of tranquillity, where the emphasis is on relaxation.
The five acres of gardens and woodland, wishing well and a ruined chapel, the last surviving link with its monastic past.
The elegant lounge and ding room, overlooking the gardens and terrace, enjoy spectacular sea views across the golf course and Carmarthen Bay. Sympathetically furnished and decorated, the effect is romantic without being sentimental.
Dinner is a candlelit affair, with mouthwatering dishes of fresh seasonal delicacies, complemented by excellent wines from the cellar. Each meal is a celebration especially prepared for you.
The bedrooms are exquisitely furnished and decorated with antiques and period furniture. Many have four-poster beds and all have en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities, telephones, colour television and hairdryers. Whether in the main building or the adjoining converted coach-house you will be delighted with their old world charm.
After an exciting day, unwind in the warm indoor pool; play snooker, or just sip cocktails on the terrace before dinner.
