More stylish than a pub and certainly groovier than a lot of restaurants in the area, The Poacher in Hartlake Road, Tudeley looks set to make its mark as one of the best places around to eat and drink. Set in the heart of the Kent countryside, The Poacher has maintained it‚s Œrural retreat‚ image from the outside but inside is more in keeping with a chic town centre bistro or brasserie. If you‚re thinking this sounds like somewhere else you‚ve been, think on, as the degree of effort that has gone into making this a great place to visit, unfolds, the more you look around. Pale oak tables, wonderful touchy-feely fabrics used to cover chairs and seats and a mix of strong and subtle colours throughout the whole design theme give the restaurant a real wow factor. It‚s classy without being pretentious. A young and vibrant team have been employed in the kitchen, lead by Sebastien Gougeon, a talented and imaginative chef. The menu is varied and interesting and provides a great base to showcase his passion for exciting combinations of tastes and textures. Local produce is used where possible and everything is prepared and cooked, fresh to order. Booking recommended.

Brit Quote:
Rock and roll doesn't necessarily mean a band. It doesn't mean a singer, and it doesn't mean a lyric, really. It's that question of trying to be immortal - Malcolm McLaren
