The Black Dog is situated in an historical village that was mentioned in the Domesday Book and is found on the A352 Dorchester to Wareham road a few miles from Dorchester. The pub has been here since at least 1851 and is very well known throughout the region.
ideally situated in the heart of Hardy country, West Dorset, close to the Jurassic Coast and just 2 miles from Dorchester.
The village is just 10 minutes from Thomas Hardy’s cottage, 15 minutes from the nearest beach and for those catching a ferry to France or the Channel Islands, we are 25 minutes from Weymouth.
