There are currently 46 Slug and Lettuces across Great Britain. All of them are on, or just off the high street, and all look slightly different and run different local events. What makes a Slug and Lettuce the same across the whole country is the wide range of beers, wines and spirits, well-rounded seasonal menus and friendly service. The broad menu, modern British with Mediterranean touches, features dishes like starter of lime and coriander houmous with toasted flat breads or crudités, main course of grilled swordfish steak with grilled peppers, tomato and onion with warm Moroccan salsa, dessert of citrus crème brulee. They don't confess to be the trendiest bar on the high street, but its cosy comfort is consistently one of the best values in town.
