Attraction in St Helier
A visit to the award-winning museum is an excellent start to any stay in Jersey. Here you will find the real history, traditions and culture of the Island explained in a way that is both exciting and understandable. Opened in 1992, and the winner of two major national awards, it uses modern technology and dramatic displays to tell the story of Jersey, its traditions, culture and commercial life. There is also a restored Victorian merchant's house to explore and paintings and sculptures from the Island's art collection can be viewed in the Barreau-Le Maistre art gallery. Exhibitions currently on display include Chasing the Cod: Jerseymen in Canada and Beyond Sensation Contemporary Art from the Deutsche Bank Collection, sponsored by Deutsche Bank.
