Hotels in Truro
The Alverton Manor has stood on its hillside setting since 1880 within the Cornish city of Truro. A convent for many years it has now been converted in to a country house hotel within walking distance of the cities amenities. Described today as quintisentially English the Grade II listed building boasts arched mullioned windows, delabole slate roof and high sandstone walls, and is perfect for exploring the north and south coasts which are only a short drive away. The Great Hall, built for the nuns by the same architect as Truro Cathedral, with its high vaulted ceiling and sand stone pillars, is an ideal venue for wedding receptions and events, conferences and exhibitions. The hotel is located within easy reach of Newquay airport and all Cornwall has to offer. Being almost in the centre of Cornwall we are the perfect location for touring holidays and weekend breaks.
