Our new exhibition hall is now open and offers many new exhibits as well as a new boat building video for both visitors and group/educational visits. Try your hand at raising the sails on a 5 metre mast, putting the planking on a wooden boat and making it watertight, as well as handling traditional boat-builder's tools.
The landmark building is sited between the Goole-Knottingley Canal where it enters Goole Docks and the Dutch River. The refurbished nature trail along the towpath offers plenty to touch, see, feel and hear. We have a café and gift shop, and there will be improved visitor facilities. You can also take a tour of Goole Docks on the Museum day boat. Board ROOM 58, a converted grain barge to view the changing programme of art and craft exhibitions, and see the unique remains of the celebrated system of coal transportation, called 'Tom Puddings' afloat near the magnificent listed Boat Hoist.
