The Carlton Riverside is a restaurant offering guest accommmodation, well located in beautiful Llanwrtyd Wells. This character property is set beside the river in Wales's smallest town. Rolling hills and rugged mountains, spectacular passes and gentle valleys, open pastures and thick forest, trickling streams and gushing falls - the landscape around Llanwrtyd Wells really is the unspoilt wild Wales of centuries past.In this spectacular setting the little hamlet of Pont-rhyd-y-Fferau (Bridge over the ankle-deep Ford) became a famous spa town of the Victorian era - Llanwrtyd (the Church by the Ford) Wells. Lying 700 feet above sea level, and standing at the gateway to mountains of unrivalled beauty, Llanwrtyd Wells offers hill walking, bird watching, mountain biking, fishing and sightings of that rare bird of prey, the Red Kite. The Town Green, alongside the River Irfon, is the site of a very large and beautiful sculpture of this famous bird. The restaurant itself serves high quality food. The comfortable and well appointed dining room directly overlooks the River Irfon, with views across to the town green and the large sculpture of a Red Kite which adorns it.PLEASE NOTE: Check In is from 14:00 to 22:00. Check Out is by 11:00. We are a no smoking accommodation. We can accept well behaved dogs by arrangement.
