Rookhurst ia a country house hotel set in the heart of beautiful Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The atmosphere here is of a small friendly country house, rather than a formal hotel. Dating back to the 17th century in places, the hotel has a unique character with each room being different in its own special way.

Rookhurst fronts the Pennine Way, on the edge of the picturesque village of Gayle, overlooked from the south by Dodd and Wether Fells, with beautiful views towards Stags Fell and the Butter Tubs pass to the North.

It is an ideal base for exploring Herriot country - the Yorkshire Dales are a delight for both serious walkers and strollers. Nearby is the Carlisle to Settle railway and you can be collected from Garsdale Station. Just round the corner is the Wensleydale Creamery, and in the market town of Hawes (8 minutes walk), the Upper Dales Folk Museum.

Rookhurst Country House Hotel has five en-suite rooms, all with full sized baths so that you can have a leisurely soak after your days exertions! Room No. 4 (The Butler's) also has a power shower. We cater for both Bed & Breakfast (B&B) as well as Dinner, Bed & Breakfast (D,B&B) and our en-suite rooms are relaxing and comfortable.

Spend some time with us and enjoy what Rookhurst and the Wensleydale area have to offer - peace and relaxation. Perfect!
