The Fleece is a beautiful grade 2 listed building and is the oldest public house in Northallerton. Charles Dickens is reputed to have stayed here whilst he was writing Nicholas Nickleby. The interior of the pub has been renovated to reflect the exterior with traditional stone floors and solid oak floors in the bar areas. Although it may look small on first appearance the pub is rather like a tardis and goes all the way back to Elder Road. The toilets have just been fully refurbished in April 2011 and the beer garden has also just been revamped. We offer a traditional pub food menu specilaising in traditional British dishes with everything cooked from fresh using products sourced from local suppliers and producers.
