The beautifully restored Vale of the White Horse Inn is set in its own grounds overlooking a lovely wildlife rich lake in the heart of the North Wiltshire. At Minety, near to Malmesbury and the Cotswold Water Park and
within easy reach of Cirencester and Swindon
The restoration has successfully fused both contemporary and historic interiors. The giant natural stone-walls and large fireplaces just ooze
character, radiating a warm welcome for all customers as soon as you step through the door. The atmosphere is informal and friendly!
All the food is prepared from fresh produce and the well-travelled chefs draw on their wide experience to produce ever changing and interesting menus. Smoking and curing of both meats and fish takes place on the premise. Meat and vegetables really are sourced locally and the Wiltshire Food and Drink Award, which has been held for four consecutive years 2006 ~ 2009 is
richly deserved. In combining a gastronomic restaurant with the rustic charms of a village pub, the Vale of the White Horse Inn creates a truly unique and
unforgettable dining experience for all ages. Diners can choose between its informal village bar or opt for the more intimate restaurant setting of the spacious dining room.
There is also a lakeside function room for hosting
events, as well as a terrace and garden overlooking the lake perfect for long summer days and making the inn a venue for any special occasion. The varied menu offers a fantastic array of dishes and daily specials to
cater for all tastes, which include home-smoked and poultry, fish, and game. All dishes are made from fresh produce and are cooked to order. The chefs
are also more than happy to cater for any food allergies or special dietary requirements. The large international Wine List is matched by a selection of five local Real Ales, which you can taste for free! ˆ Ask the landlord to
recommend an ale to complement any main course or starter.
A perfect way to start your meal is with the delicious homemade soup of the day served with warm crusty olive bread. For a lighter, more refreshing
dish, try the salad of home smoked chicken and bacon with a blue cheese dressing. Choosing from the varied selection of main courses will be a challenge. The slow-braised lamb shank with a herb-mustard crust, spring
onion mashed potato and mange tout with a red wine sauce, is a definite must. The succulent lamb simply melts in your mouth. Alternatively, try the
creamy pesto tagliatelle with flat cap mushrooms and peppers this is a real explosion of flavour.
The inn also boasts a mouth-watering range of desserts that must not be missed, which include traditional favourites like the fruit crumble of the day served with creamy custard or the heavenly iced white chocolate and almond parfait.
This is a haven for locals and visitors alike, providing good, well-presented food with a reasonable price tag attached, so a visit here won‚t break the bank. The fantastic food, excellent service and friendly
atmosphere makes the Vale of the White Horse Inn a place to return to again and again.
