I visited here for lunch on a Easter Monday. I was extremely disappointed with my lunch. Salmon fillet with asparagus and parsley sauce. The salmon was fatty, there was NO sauce, instead, it was swimming in butter from the microwaved potatoes. The other vegetables were bland and tasteless and I had a very miserable small pile of "zapped" spinach. I would never recommend this place, and I would certainly not advise a trip to the loos. We were never offered any puddings, and the service was miserable. Everything is written on a chalk board and we waited ages for our food - would give this "establishment" a very wide birth!

A party of 8 of us went for a meal on Saturday 19th, two of the party were children aged 12 and 11. Ordered food at 8.30. Did not arrived until 10.20. We were told on several occasions that it would be served within 5 minutes. Landlord refused to accept that the length of time we were waiting was unacceptable as he was "incredibly busy" In fact argued that we did not order food until 9.15. When food did arrive children too tired to eat. Landlord EXTREMELY rude and at one point refused to talk to me. Customer service appalling. At no point did he or either of the waitresses come to our table and inform us of the situation. Food was OK but not worth the wait.

We booked a room for two or three nights at the local tourist office. We wanted to visit Petworth House and the village as well as seeing the surrounding area. The room - Dolly's Daintry - was spacious and clean. The meals in the evening were very good with a good selection of choices. The breakfast in the moning - yes English Breakfast we are from Holland - was well cooked and again plenty of choices in cereals. Mike and Arjen with their staff were most friendly! And yes we stayd for three nights. One drawback though - I banged my head a few times going to the toilet. I had been warned the the crossbeam was low and it is. I am six foot one tall and really had to bend down.

When we arrived we were greeted and shown our room. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room and accommodations were as described. If we ever get a chance to travel again I would highly recomend this Inn. The staff and local people were very friendly and informative.
