As my daughter said, Avoncroft is much more than a museum - the word doesn't do it justice. We saw so many fascinating old buildings and had lots of fun ringing each other up from the old phone boxes - a trip down memory lane for me as I grew up without a telephone at home. We saw the windmill turning, bought a souvenir brick from the brick-making area, imagined the Tudor family cooking lunch in the ancient Merchants House, and exclaimed at the semi- familiar fittings of the prefab house. This place brings history alive and is a great place for an afternoon or whole day family visit, in a beautiful setting.
