This was my first time at the Masons Arms and was looking forward to a good night at a hen party of one of my friends. Only to be greeted when we had our drinks and sat down with the rest of the party by a man (can't say gentleman as he definately wasn't one)and who told us that we couldn't use the table to put our drinks on, as the artist that was arriving would be using it and he took it away. Nothing was said that we were sitting where the artist was going to be playing, until a couple of men came in and sat next to our party of 20. This man from behind the bar came over and told us in not a very nice manner that we would have to move. When I asked where can we sit, his response was "you can sit in the F***ing car park for all he cared". I was astonished. There was no need for that kind of talk at all, to a simple question of where we could sit as the place was full. I asked him what his problem was and if he treated all his customers in this manner? and that if he did, I was surprised that he had any customers at all. When I told him that he was rude and asked him again what his problem was? (I never raised my voice, I'm a 54 year old LADY)I don't need to raise my voice to anyone. I like to speak to people the way that I would want to be spoken to NICELY that is. His reply was "I haven't got time to have a confrontation with you" I'm busy. I didn't want a confrontation as he put it, Just wanted to know what I had done to make him have this kind of response to a simple question. When I went back to the bar I asked for someone else to serve me, I said I will not come back to this place to be treated this way, and was told "good as you wouldn't be welcome anyway" A real charmer don't you think????? If I was drunk and rude in return I could understand it, but as I don't drink and was drinking diet coke as I always do, his actions was so unexpected. I'm just glad that my son's who I think were probably older than the landlord, were not there to witness this man speaking to their mother that way. It was so uncalled for. WHAT SHOCKED ME EVEN MORE WAS THIS RUDE MAN WAS ............... THE LANDLORD.........In this day and age you can't afford to be rude to your customers as there are pubs closing everyday. All I can say is If I treated my customers that way.....My pub would have closed it doors long ago. As to the so called Landlord of the Masons Arms. You need to wake up and change your attitude......as a bad review goes around so much faster than a good one I can tell you. I won't be saying anything good about your place to anyone I know, and you need to treat your OLD and NEW customers with a lot more CHARM, you might find that your business will flurish.........
