We stayed here for two nights after our wedding last weekend which was also my 50th birthday. Had an absolutely fabulous time. The place is so breathtakingly beautiful-the stunning hallways, bedrooms, drawing rooms and lounges rendered me speechless!!! Total luxury. The staff who attended to us are also ,I believe, the family who own it. They appeared silently when required, then discreetly disappeared so you could sit peacefully in the beautiful surroundings.Really felt like it was our home for our stay! The dining room is gorgeous with imaginitive well-cooked food served by a beautiful genteel Japanese girl. Not for you if you want to sit watching tele in a lounge as there arent any downstairs- great if you want to read in silence in wonderful surroundings of a bygone era. Will definitely return there ,highly recommend it for a real treat. Not cheap but worth very penny for the wonderful time we had there.I have never been anywhere quite like it for the sheer grandeur. Absolutely loved it!!!
