We stayed at Little Horwood Manor for three consecutive nights, 3 – 6th of August 2009. The stay provided a base for visits to Bletchley Park, Woburn, and Blenheim Palace. In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our three-night leisure break at Little Horwood Manor. On arrival, we were promptly and warmly received and this was followed by an introductory tour of the property and some background information on its design and history. The large hall, with oak very evident in the structure and fittings, was particularly impressive. You should be aware that access to, and within, the property requires guests to be able to cope easily with steps. We were allocated the newly decorated and kitted bedroom on the top floor. The bedroom included a window that offered an excellent landscape view, a large bed, and a modernised en suite with good quality modern fittings including twin wash bowls. Being positioned in the loft space, you should be aware that some walls are sloping and physically intrusive but the overall space is more interesting than the usual box shape. The plumbing system is somewhat noisy but becomes increasingly easy to ignore! Breakfast in the conservatory provides interesting views over a large garden which also found approval from numerous cabbage whites and a handful of wild rabbits. The pleasing scenery is matched by a breakfast of excellent quality and presentation. All the crockery and cutlery etc. was spotless, and this was consistent with the cleanliness of the bedroom and en suite. More widely, the property is accessed via a tree lined drive that joins a quiet minor road which quickly connects to the main road network. We also enjoyed our evening visits to a local village pub, the Betsey Wynne, which served good quality food and drinks at reasonable prices in a relaxing environment.

Having had the most enjoyable stay at Little Horwood Manor for three nights, we can certainly recommend the experience. This establishment not only offers a really unique opportunity to stay in a beautiful building in a peaceful and secluded environment but also provides a very high level of personal service. We were made to feel like family on a weekend visit and can honestly say that the owners made every effort to accommodate our needs and requests. We look forward to our next visit.
