In April we booked 3 nights at this hotel and on arrival were alloted Room 2. My immediate observation was that it had no window - just a delapidated glazed door opening onto a ground level walk way so if the air came in, so could an intruder. The very old, unmovable ventilator was of no use at all. There was therefore no security . This of course applied night and day. The blanket was torn - the bath was badly chipped and the soap dish fell off the wall alongside the bath as the attachment was so rusty. Finally, rain came through the ceiling in the bathroom, by all accounts from the balcony above. Of course we asked to be moved but apparently there were no other rooms available. Our short break in Portpatrick was completely ruined. £40 has been offered as a sweetener but nothing can make up for the real disappointment. WARNING Don't accept Room 2 unless it has been improved along with the rest of the Hotel.
