Every year a large group of us find a cottage to spend the week over New Year in. We are friends from University having met in 2012. Our partners now form the larger group. While the tradition has been going for many years, this is only my second New Years experience.... WOW...The Rats Hole near Loddon is not only beautiful beyond words, the hospitality shown by Rachel and Tim (owners) has made our experience one to remember and a truly incredible start to 2014!!! The cottage has been a perfect venue for the 11 of us and our dogs and day trips to nearby Cities and beaches etc have enabled us to enjoy all that Norfolk has to offer. Will we be coming back? I think given the chance some of us would live here. A beautifully designed cottage that quickly became our home for the week provided us with bedrooms to accommodate all; a large kitchen to enjoy our evening meals, night of games and other fun times; a lounge with a log fire and grounds to explore the natural beauty available locally. The stars on a clear night were extraordinary which for me was the bonus on top of everything already amazing. The care and additional touches provided by Rachel and Tim (such as fresh eggs, homemade bread and red wine for our New Year celebration), completed a pretty perfect week, in fact they have become honorary members of our group. We are already talking about making this the location for our annual gathering and would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a quiet week away where the freedom to have fun and make new memories is easily achieved. Thank you does not seem enough but I know we all share a great love for this humble home!!
