This is the worst lavender farm I have ever visited. You enter the building and a man stands at a reception desk as if he wants payment for entrance. I was with my mother we had spent a lovely week on the yorkshire coast and wanted to visited a few places on the way home to Cambridge to make a pleasant ending to our week away. We decided to have something to eat and drink here. We sat down at a table, it had not been cleared from previous guests. We sat for 20mins, not one waitress cleared our table or came to speak to us. I went to seek assistance by pressing a bell and was still ignored. I finally found a waitress and asked for my table to be cleared her reply was "no", asked to make an order of tea the reply was "I have no pen and paper to write with". I filled out a complaints form the man at the reception desk tore the paper in half and placed i in the bin and said " we are short staffed and my staff work 7 days a week"

Good Points: Comfortable bed, good bathroom, not a chain, attractive old building, small size, excellent garden, relaxing lounge, friendly staff, car to front door, mostly very quiet, food very good, easy walking to town centre, attractive town Bad Points: lights in restaurant very direct and glaring; table lamps in bedroom not properly shaded and therefore too bright. bounced light would be much more restful. low noise of a pump possibly the water system at night. qualitycoffee with dinner [and] breakfast was poor General Review: A nice escape; it would be a gem with attention to some detail
