Could not have been happier with our stay at Old Stoney Bank. Beautiful rooms, with lovely crisp, cotton linen; bathrooms accessorized with luxurious soaps and bath products; great breakfast; stunning views and garden, all delivered by Anne for whom nothing is too much trouble. Can't wait to go back in the summer!

Without speaking in hyperbole, this is absolutley the best B&B in which my wife and I have ever stayed, and for an unreal price!! To start with; Ian, Anne and their two sons, (as well as their two dogs!) are the most warm and gracious hosts one could stay with. The stay felt more like a visit to family than a trip to any ordinary B&B. Ask for hints on where to dine or simply good conversation are always close at hand with the Auton family. Not only are the accomodations (we had the bedroom with the En Suite) fantastic, inviting and designed for a good relaxing stay, but the food was fantastic as well! We used the Old Stoney bank as a launching point to travel to many parts of Yorkshire. We were however, always anxious to get back to the area surrounding New Mill and Holmfirth as we knew there was much more to explore and discover. While my wife recovered from jet lag, I went on some great walks! Breathtaking views of the countryside are no more than a few steps away! And really the views in and around Old Stoney Bank's property are more than worth the stay! You are in for a fantastic breakfast, and really Anne's culinary prowess was modestly shown at every morning meal. And special requests don't upset her! My wife and I strolled through New Mill and Homfirth, and ate in some of thier restaurants, and had a few pints with some of the locals in the pub. A great time indeed! I will not recommend any of the places we dined and imbibed. Because Anne and Ian will be glad to recommend those places for you based on your tastes! Each one was a "home-run"! At 60 Pounds per night, this place was a steal! Really! It felt as if we should've spent twice that, and in fact one may have to, as the B&B seems to be a favourite of everyone who's every stayed there! Don't waste another minute on deciding which B&B to stay at in Yorkshire, or in the whole UK! Just be sure to beat Lauren and I there first! Old Stoney Bank is our new Home from Holme! ps- don't forget to ask for the free "Snuggle with Jerry!"

A home away from home A rest without "the rest" Retreat from cares, enjoy the peace Old Stoney Bank is best In 40 years of international travel staying in everything from basic B&Bs to 5 star hotels I have never received such a warm welcome and such personal attention. This is a jewel in England's crown. I want to go back again and again.
