Wish I'd found the previous reveiw sooner. All others are a bit more recent and rave about the friendly hosts. This was my daughters wedding reception and we had all rooms No welcome on arival, no good morning at breakfast and no discount on rooms, which I thought overpriced. The manageress had a terrible attiiude and some of the guests had similar treatment.Only smile from either host was from her husband when paying the big bill before leaving. The carvery fortunately was very good and enjoyed by all.It would take too long to list all the faults. There were 70 of us(too many for the size) from all corners of the UK and it was a brilliant get together for all in spite of the shortcomings.Seems more interested in cash than customer care.

no discount given for staying there for three nights, although we had two rooms. Arrived 20 mins late for lunch, told the kitchen was shut, not offered a sandwich or an alternative place to eat. First night of arrival, had a meal at night - disgusting, overcooked food, the next night was slightly better, not much though. The rooms, well erm, old fashioned, in need of a renovation, blocks of wood wedged in front legs of wardrobe, botched pipe work in bathroom, bath panel in one of en-suits was cracked and taped up. oh no shower, just to mention a few things. i would not advise anyone to stay there, especially when they are charging sixty eight pounds a night. I do advise you to check out solway lodge, we had a great wedding meal there, everyone was friendly and couldnt be more helpful- great establishment.
