Good Points: Plenty of free parking, convenient to town center, decent pub in hotel. Bad Points: During online reservation under special requests I wrote "Quiet room with comfortable bed" Placed in Room 22 in Crown Lodge, a brick block separate from the main building. My bedroom window looked out at kitchen, staff car park and garbage dumpsters. The bed was very old and worn, springs bent and poking thru thin padding - extraordinarily uncomfortable. Phone in room did not work. Mentioned this to three staffers and no fix. No control for radiator to adjust heat so it was never warm enough. Towels and bathmat threadbare. Poor or no cleaning after previous guest, trash still in bins and open half-eaten snack package on tea tray. Exterior lights at building front door out, hard to see your keys when trying to enter. Bath fans very noisy and could be heard rumbling in adjacent rooms. General review: I could not wait to get out of there. I stayed in Stone House the month before and it was pretty bad, I had hoped the Crown would be better but it was really awful.

Good Points: Excellent value Bad Points: Hotel is somewhat shabby and requires an update to decor throughout. Breakfast expensive but there is a JD WETHERSPOONS approx 100 meters away which is half the price! General review: Good will stay again.
