Good Points: Found manager and staff very helpful. Some staff knowing quite a bit about the local area and local transport. Public transport on doorstep. Soya milk was requested before start of stay but when arrived none in for breakfast, saying that manager went straight out to get some and it was on the table within 10 minutes. The room was nice to stay in and view very good looking over to the Angel of the North. Bad Points: Found restaurant could do with a little more lighting. sometimes hard to see menu when not near a window. As for the room or staff if I really wanted to nit pick I'm sure I could find something to moan about but as of now I can't. General review: Very good all round hotel and would let others know about it. It's location for touring is excellant.

We went here for Sunday lunch. Although very busy, we didn't have to wait too long. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the food is extremely good (and you get plenty of it, non of this small portion rubbish here!) They have a very good choice of food and an excellent wine list. The atmosphere is welcoming and peaceful. All in all a very very good place to eat. Highly recommended!
