I thought I'd share a great experience I've just had. I booked a one day business meeting wih overnights before and after at Shottle Hall in Derbyshire. What a fantastic change from the uusual commercial-corporate hotel. The surrounding, buildings, gardens and countryside were superb. The food was good, the service spot on and the rooms were terrific. I was initially I bit apprehensive about booking somewhere different but Shottle Hall paid me back in spades full. I'd thoroughly recommend this as a venue for a business meeting when you're looking to get away from the hum-drum of what the commercials have to offer.

I have just spent one of the most relaxing weekends ever at Shottle Hall. It started with the location - WOW! what beautiful country side and views. Our room was the most romantic ever, decorated in opulant reds in was warm and luxurious. The four poster bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Antique furntiure but with a modern (huge) bathroom - the perfect combination. The food was excellent too - try the Roast Patridge - delicous! It has a great menu - good food but not too expensive. We are going back in the summer so we can really get the most from the beautiful gardens.
