La Rosa, in my opinion was just perfect in everyway. My husband and I needed to flee the city, people, traffic and noise. We required a retreat, we were not disappointed. La Rosa is different from anything I have ever experienced in a holiday. It is quirky to say the least, the vans are all themed and authentic traveller caravans which are quite old. They are full of special things and items to keep you entertained, full of nostalgia and all things old. Just to add to the nostalgia you are able to hear the steamtrain to and from Goathland. The family that run the site are all so friendly, lovely and special, they do everything they can to make your holiday perfect. 10/10 for everything, the cooking facilities are fab...Gas stoves in some vans and a huge communal tent with everything you could possibly need. Even a dressing up box... A sofa and dinning tables.. All very quirky. The loo is a compost loo and as women run the site it is always kept clean, with enough loo paper and air freshner etc.The outside roll top bath is just delicious to soak in after exploring the "Faery" wood. The shower room is dark and cosy and very refreshing after having adventures in the "dark" woods. The camp site is low impact which means no electricity... Which is fantastic. Everything is lit by candles and looks stunning on an evening. The vans are heated by log burners, so cosy, romantic and lush. The only thing you need to bring with you is your food and wellies.... It can be quite muddy if it has rained but justs adds to the fun and experience of La Rosa. We were only staying 2 nights and ended up staying 4 and I still did not want to leave but my cats called!!!! We love you all at La Rosa and highly recommend you to all those who love camping with a difference and long may you continue doing what you do.xx
