Able to book a room at very short notice due to being let down by pre-booked alternative accommodation. The proprietor was more than helpful in finding us somewhere to eat that evening. Our twin room was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, the en suite equally spotless and surprisingly large.Breakfast was served by a lovely lady, very friendly and the food was delicious.A lovely friendly hotel, we would certainly visit again if in the area.

On the next lines I will try to enumerate all the things I enjoyed during my stay, and all the things I didn’t like. Before coming I went to their website, and I was instantly happy with it! They had free wireless, available throughout the entire hotel. This turned out to be great for me, since I came from Portugal, it allowed me to talk to my family every day, and guess what?! It didn’t cost me a penny! Internet aside, I will now mention the staff. There wasn’t a single day that they didn’t received me with a smile on their faces, always asking if everything was alright, if I wanted anything else, and, besides that, even when I had a rough day, they would always try to make me see the brighter side of it, and try to take the sad look off my face. I might as well mention the food. I must confess that I was a little bit scared when I arrived. I didn’t know what to expect, I had no idea of what I was going to eat during my stay. But meal after meal, I found myself spoiled. They have always managed to serve me, probably some of the best meals I have eaten away from home. If you choose to come to the Claireville then you must certainly try the salmon with pasta! Squeeze the lemon juice over the Salmon, and afterwards add a Hollandaise sauce on top of it all. A meal fit for a king! And that was not my favourite! My favourite meal was something so great that you have to try it for yourself. The name of this gastronomic delicacy is something that already sounds delicious just by saying it: Chicken escalopes with bacon and cheese sauce. I liked it so much that I dared to ask the secret behind the sauce! I have tried it with rice and spaghetti, but just anything you can cover with that sauce will turn out great! I never felt like a customer there, even though they were serving me, I felt like a relative who they didn’t saw for a long time, and were just happy to have me there with them! That is the beauty of the Claireville. You don’t feel like you are living at a hotel, where you are treated just as another customer. In there you are definitely part of the family! And that is the end of my review. Oh! I should state what I didn’t like.... Well, I will have to go back and try to find out anything unpleasant... I could always mention that I didn’t like the rain... But I suppose that is not their fault... In short, I have enjoyed my stay so much that I felt in the obligation of writing this review for future customers experience the same as I did. Yours sincerely, Bruno Santos

Stayed overnight with my wife on above night. Very convenient to Teeside Airport, a 10 minute drive which suited as we had a mid morning flight the next day. Old fashioned hotel that could probably do with a bit of modernising, but at the price it was excellent value at £73.00 per night. The room was spacious ,spotleesly clean and extremely quiet which led to a good nights sleep. Staff very welcoming and helpful and organised taxi to the town of Yarm which is about two miles away. Would definitely stay there again.
