Good Points: Staff pleasant . Room spacious and comfortable. Bad Points: Staff didn't read the note I put on the reservation - that I would prefer a lower room due to difficulties climbing stairs and I was given a room on the top floor!! General review: Quite pleasant apart from struggling up 3 flights of stairs!

4 friends booked for dinner. Lovely starters. Disappointing main course. Dry duck, couldn't eat it! Fillet steak, asked for it medium rare, very overcooked served with almost raw chips. Can't complain about the service.

Good Points: The staff were lovely and the service excellent. Breakfast was very tasty and fast, we ate in the Bistro 1 night and the food and service was excellent. Overall the hotel had a lovely welcoming and comfy feel, we had a lovely stay. Bad Points: We asked for another room as the 1st one allocated was not too good. The room we stayed in was fine, a bit shabby and in need of updating, a few annoying things like no remote for TV and noisy heating, for the price I think freeview should be standard, needed for long cold wintery nights. It was clean, warm and comfy. General review: Good, would recommend to friends and family and would go back again.

stopped of on our way to Berwick upon Tweed with my wife and another couple, liked the look of the town, got accomodatoin at the above and can highly recommend it, well appointed bedrooms with a double bed, temperamental shower, but probably the best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel, the whole hotel was well maintained and the staff were up to the job also
