I have just returned from a 5 day stay at this hotel(a David Urquart tour). We found the hotel to be perfectly adequate, the room was very nice and quiet (the double glazing keeping all the traffic noise away). The food was of a very high standard and the staff were very friendly and helpful (nothing was too much trouble. Marie the barmaid kept us entertained with her own version of bingo. A good time was had by all and i would definately stay there again.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights. On our arrival the staff made us most welcome. The room was quiet and well presented clean tidy and well decorated as was the bathroom with plenty of hot water. The food was excellent and plenty of it, the carvery was help yourself with no limit to what you had. If you are looking for a friendly family run hotel in this area look no further. This one is excellent. In the four days we were there neither of us could fault the staff or the service provided.

Although we only stayed 2 nights as part of a trip to the Edinburgh Tattoo we found the Hotel very comfortable,we only had one evening meal which was well cooked and most enjoyable, the staff were very friendly without being intrusive. The room had everything we needed including TV, and was very clean and comfortable,we would certainly visit again if we were in the area.

Good Points: My husband enjoyed the beer Bad Points: Inadequate shower - very poor flow - the room itself was clean but very basic - the breakfast was very poor - the fruit that was there on Saturday was very old and unappetising and there was none at all by Sunday no dried fruit either no yoghurts - the juice was watered down and the coffee like coloured water General review: I would not go out of my way to stay there again

Had girls night out at Park head hotel to celebrate a birthday (11 in our party). We were told it was "Party night" The meal was a carvery which was not very good, the meat was very dry the veg were over cooked and the sweet was inedable! There was about 23 people in the room if that! The place had no atmosphere at all we had to eat our meal with our coats on because the room was so cold even the staff were complaining it was cold! The DJ bless him tried his best but i'm afraid we had had enough by 10:00pm and called our taxi to pick us up early. All in all it was the worse night out we had ever had and we've had a few! I'm only glad we have'nt booked up for our xmas night out at the Park Head. The only good thing I can say was the place was clean and the staff very friendly.
