Good Points: We supposed our room, albeit without looking too closely, to be adequately clean. Breakfast: The orange juice and toast were fine, although we only had breakfast at the hotel once during our stay. The beds were made every day. Adequate furnishing. Bad Points: The "welcome" we received was disappointing. The water piping in the bathroom had probably been laid by an amateur (plastic and untidy). The carpet in the room was very badly stained, which gave us the impression it was dirty. We avoided walking barefoot over it. There were no hooks or shelves of any kind in the bathroom. We had to lay our washing accessories and towels either on the floor or on the radiator. There was only one towel per person. When taking a shower we had to use the towel as anti-slip mat as well as for drying. Breakfast: The tea was very weak and had a strange grey colour. We found the coffee to be very bitter. The walls and window frames, and paintwork in general, were in a shocking state. The hotel interior had a strange, unpleasant smell. General review: Even at the low room price, we found this hotel to be in a poor state. We wouldn't stay at this hotel again even if the rooms were free. The fact that we chose this hotel through the internet purely by chance was our misfortune. Overall we were very disappointed with this hotel and felt a great sense of relief on the morning we left.

Good Points: The hotel was clean and the staff did react to our requests. Bad Points: Problems with the windows in the room not closing. Noisy air conditioning in the bathroom. Breakfast not what we expected. General review: The main window in the room did not close properly so it was just jammed shut as much as we could manage to get it. A smaller window had no closing latch(didn't look like it had ever had one attached) so was just allowed to fly open. As we were staying there during the most attrocious weather of freezing gales and rain this did cause a problem. However the next morning we did mention it to the staff and they attended to this particular window(and warmed the room up for us as it was freezing by then). The air conditioning unit in the bathroom, which was activated when the light was switched on, screeched in a high pitched squeal each time the light was turned on, so we decided not to use the light switch during the night(opting to work in the dark). The breakfast was a little disappointing as it was advertised as continental so we did expect a choice of cereals as well as toast but we were only offered the toast, which is not great if you dont eat toast. However, we could have had any amount of toast that we could possibly eat. The staff were very attentive and did respond to our requests.
