i arrived at caterham station to find the taxi rank outside having no taxis and found my self looking into a shop window while i waited. after a closer look i found this shop to be catax taxis . so i booked from the office waited in the warm and sat and chatted to the friendly staff. the taxi driver arrived and was smart clean and wearing collar and tie he was chatty and his car was clean. on completing the journey i asked for a card and somehow i seemed to have lost it and when wanting to return to the station the staff of the local restraunt booked me a taxi from what i now know as caterham rank. what a big difference in service no shirt and collar and when i explained i had a catax driver the driver just said he is self employed and dont have to wear set clothes and as long as people gets there taxis that should be good enough, of course this man never got a tip and does not know anything about service. if i return i will make sure i used catax or one of the smarter drivers ( i did see some while i smoked my cigarette outside the station ) based at the rank. but for me catax showed me that people in england can still get service !
