Stopped by in the evening for a quick bite after driving all day. Two steak and kidney pies, great food, great pastry. and real chips! nice open fire and the crackling of wood... mmm! reluctantly about to set off when twenty or so musicians came in to set up some kind of jam in the room by the bar. apparently they play there every week. we decided to stay a bit longer. nice ale, very friendly owners. just what me and my husband needed after driving for four hours on a hectic motorway! will definitely be back!

I booked 2 double rooms at the Moorcock Inn via the internet for my husband and I and our friends, so wasn't quite sure what to expect.
On our arrival we were greeted by a friendly member of staff and after booking in we went into the bar for a drink. We were impressed by how comfortable it felt, with the two large sofas in the centre of the room, large well-stocked bar and a very 'chilled out' atmosphere. After a drink we went to the rooms, which were very clean and modern. Just one drawback, the shower was almost impossible to use. It was either too cold, scalding hot and hardly any water pressure, just a rather weak flow. The bed linen was clean and fresh, as were the towels. Later on, after a 'siesta' we met back into the bar, had a very pleasant meal and spent the rest of the evening on the sofas in the bar relaxing and enjoying a drink. The breakfast the next morning was very nice, once again served by very friendly staff. I would thoroughly recommend the Moorcock Inn and would have no hesitation in paying another visit.
