My partner and i stayed one night only, a Valentine surprise for me. We had a suite with Four Poster bed (very romantic) This is a truly beautiful Inn..very historic and full of olde world charm and very creaky floors and stairs. (Nice little touches, like the pewter side plates at the meal tables, waitress in long apron). The help-your-self breakfast area was laid out on a huge rustic table, again giving an olde world feeling. I loved it so much i didn't want to leave. We are certainly coming back for a 2 night stay. A short walk along the road takes you to 'the village' and the river.YOU MUST VISIT THIS PLACE.

The standard of cleanliness in the rooms was poor. The bathroom was dated and the tiles were chipped, and certainly didn’t live up to the price tag. The food was abysmal; the staff were scruffy and looked very board probably because we were the only four people in the restaurant. The food was bland boring and my fish had probably been frozen. Since the Old bell had been taken over by a big chain it has got very grotty. Poor service, poor food and defiantly not value for money!
