Chose Rothbury as a result of driving through in Spring whilst staying in Hexham. Our wedding anniversary and a much longed for visit to Cragside were the perfect 'excuse' for a visit. Booked the Coquetvale Hotel after searching the www. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant and couteous staff member who took us to our room. After the recent heavy rains she apologized for a small damp patch on the ceiling - negligible but indicative of the care and service we experienced during our short stay. The room [2] was spotless, spacious and had great views. The restaurant was superb. Excellent food, wine and service for a very reasonable price. will definitely recommend and return.
