Best rates for a Local Hotel

Good Points: We found the hotel nice and clean, staff were very helpful and it is a short walk from shopping areas and the ICC. Bad Points: Although we understand these are classed as 'city rooms' and space is limited - we thought that there could be improvements such as a hairdryer hook on the wall next to the desk area to save cluttering the small area. We also thought that a face and bath towel per person should be provided not only bath towels (luckly we brought our own). The small desk although atheistically nice wasn't practical due to the fact that it curved toward the back and front, this meant stuff rolled or fell easily from the front and it wasted space at the back. I also thought that the actual room dimensions should be added to the website as the virtual tour is very misleading - both me,a friend in another room plus our daughters expected a slightly larger area. Lighting although seemingly plentiful is very poor wattage even with the dimmer etc turned on full. Although I did not book breakfast I could not understand why it is available in a bistro ajoining the hotel for £4.95 (all you can eat) - when the hotel charge offers breakfast at £7.95. The shower is definitely not a power shower although there is plenty of hot water. Probably because the rooms are crammed in you can hear 'everything' that goes on... even several doors away. General review: We stayed as my daughter was competing in the Miss Universe GB competition, I doubt I'd book this type of room again for another pageant due to the lack of space to hang all of her stuff - only two hangers are present and attached to the wall - no hooks other than the coat hook on the back of the door were available - although for an overnight stay (for instance to go on a shopping trip) the room would be adequate.
