After apologising for being 6 minutes late, I was refused my appointment and accused of being 10 minutes late. The staff was very Quick to shom me a wall clock that was 5 minutes fast. On arriving the assistants where in an ajoining room talking, so they were not sure what time I arrived. The older assistant, called tracy, was very abrupt and direct with no simpathy. They did'nt even consult my dentist. My job really makes me struggle to make these appoinments and now they have left me to endear another three weeks of pain. Please thank all the staff.

I had a broken lower right molar and I was getting some pain so I went to the dentist with whom I am registered. I explained that the lower right side of my mouth is not easy to anaesthetise and that the last dentist had referred me to sedation, because it had proven impossible to numb. The dentist decided to press on and try. She injected into the area directly around the tooth at the side of the broken tooth, as she said some pain was probably coming from there, as the xray showed the root was dying. It had not been possible to numb the area and it was very painful, eventually she stopped drilling and explained she would refer me to the hospital and also look for somewhere that did sedation to allow the work to be done on the root. On Tuesday last week, she rang and left a message to say she had referred me to the hospital. She did not say anything else about other referals or what else was possible. She had warned me the day before, the length of time it takes get a hospital visit. The hospital visit was not intended to remedy the root treatment anyway, just the problem with the nerve. I was in pain. I tried ringing the surgery but the dentist only attends that surgery once a week. Other than that, she is not contactable. She left no notes. There was no other assistance offered. The practice manager is only there occasionally. There were no notes left about where I had been referred to and I was told I would have to wait a week, before I could see or speak to the same dentist again to find out what had happened with my referral. None of the other dentists would speak to me. I was offered an appointment with another dentist, but they could not get me out of the pain because they could not aneasthetise me and they could not tell me anything and the referral so there was little point. I have tried to contact the surgery today, but she is in the surgery and still unable to speak to me. Reception told me quite blandly that she may or may not ring me back. Having part time dentists working one day a week, only works if there are follow on notes and there is a team effort with full time dentists, who put patients first - this is not the case here. Patient care is woefully inadequate. Customer service is extremely poor. The way that reception speak to you and deal with any issue, has in my opinion lacked professionalism or even basic curtesy.
