Good Points: The staff is polite and friendly. The hotel is very clean, the soundproofing excellent, so that the enjoyment of the superb view over the facing hills and the cascade below was not marred by noise. The room was comfortable, the service very good. We were also impressed by the good manners of other guests who, late at night and early in the morning, made every effort to open and close their doors quietly : this is very rare, but I suppose somewhat fortuitous and not really thanks to hotel itself. It occurs to us that a note to that effect in the rooms would not be amiss. The breakfast staff are extremely efficient, and we did enjoy the atmosphere of the conservatory part of the restaurant. In any case, a very good hotel in a fine location. Bad Points: Some congestion at the Reception desk, although this was only occasional. Some people cleared up late at night after a function and sometimes raised their voices without too much consideration. We would not have liked to have had breakfast in the dark (main) part of the restaurant. General review: The hotel is obviously run by professionals who have taken every care to meet the requirements of both business and leisure travelers. The staff are a step ahead, as well as courteous and efficient. The amenities in the room were comprehensive, functioned well, the water was piping hot ...The location is magnificent, affording views of a particularly fine town rising over a steep hill where the houses proudly display the beautiful texture of locally quarried stone, and where the roads are etched by the ancient art of dry stone wall making. The cascade at the front is fun, presenting at night an imaginative son et lumiere, the son part of it being kept out by an amazingly efficient sound-proofing! Who needs Niagara Falls ? We cannot better sum up than by quoting that irrepressible visitor, and say : We'll be BACK!

Good Points: Generous sized rooms and beds (for the larger folks this is a bonus), the choice of a shower or bath, ensuite everything!
