I cannot stress enough how infuriating the lack of receptionist response to answering the phone is at this practise! It took me 5 days to eventually get through! During that time I am not exagerating in saying I dialed the number over 30 times!!!

Having missed an appointment in July 2009 at Westcliffe i was struck off the list. The appointment had been missed due to emergency surgery in hospital only being notified the day before. I asked a nurse on the ward to contact the dentist and let them know that i would be unable to make the appointment. After i had recovered at home i contacted the dentist to rearrange the appointment only to be told that i have been removed from the list and i would have to find myslf another dentist. I was outraged and in the current climate it is impossible to find a replacement dentist. I wouldn't mind but my appointment was for a repair they had already started.

Dear Mrs Birch. having failed a appointment in 2007 and 2008 i have been forced off your list. i have attended your surgery for many years. I know that you will not allow me to return to your surgery so i am writing to complain about the harsh way in which you operate. I did not know that you worked on a year by year basis if an appointment was missed. If i had known this i waould have attended my appointment with a severe bout of flu in which i had to take time off work. A letter of guidance would not go a miss if you fail an appointment one year, it will go against you the next year and so on.As i have always worked and paid national insurance i obviously feel angry at this decision. I do apologise for my missed appointment this year. I have now registered with another dentist and i will check out their criteria carefully on this subject. Might i note in your standard letters for routine appointments it does not say if you miss two appointments in any year you will be struck off it just says two appointments missed then you will not recieve treatment, this needs clarification if you work on this year by year policy. Mrs Bridge.
