Had to be there 10 mins before appt time, was told this due to other patients attending late?, I rang prior to appt to make sure re funding travel costs would be ok,told when attended at reception, nobody available to re fund! would have to get back on next visit, explained I was on limited low income and would need the money today, reception lady then shouting loudly to members of staff in room behind reception"have we got any money, someone shouting check the petty cash, check the tea money!whilst Im standing at reception making it fully obvious to the waiting room that I was on Benefits,I feel that my dignity was not kept and the reception staff where very unprofessional, they then proceeded to try to make descrepencies regarding the bus ticket I had bought, which is the same type I have been told by the staff in the finance dept at three seperate hospitals to buy! I was then re embursed my travel costs £4.80, all in 20 pence pieces and a £1 coin! I was made to feel so embarrassed and ashamed! I then had to sit in a waiting room which was full of what appeared to be drug addicts in and out waiting to see some member of staff called Billy? I saw the Physio person on time, unfortunately i found her to be rude and very short in her manner, I wasnt allowed to give her any case history on my problem and nothing short of told to shut up as she only had half an hour with me and she would just deal with the problem as it was now!I had waited over a month to see her! she had a quick feel of my neck after filling in forms, then told I would have another appt in another month,,all in all ,not a very good experience!

I have been a patient at Higher Broughton Health Centre all my life(42 years) and I cannot praise the Staff highly enough..Admin,Nurses and Doctors all do a tremendous job in a friendly, efficient and professional manner.Appointments are always speedy and, most importantly,my Doctor has proved to me that,in an emergency or case of great urgency, she can always be trusted to alleviate the problem.

I moved from nearby, leafy Prestwich to Broughton, just over a year ago. I have been very lucky, over the years, and rarely had to visit my old doctor at Prestwich Health Centre. I was worried about using what was a much more "inner city" health centre and do feel I did the right thing choosing Higher rather than Lower Broughton Health Centre, which some of my new neighbours had chosen. Higher Broughton Centre is slightly closer to my home. For various reasons I have had to attend and can not speak more highly of the reception staff or the doctors and nurses. They are a pleasure to deal with and ALL do a great job!

I have been going to higher broughton health centre for 22 years and have always been more than happy with the service there, my doctor is the best you could ever ask for and the staff there bend over backwards to help you if you have any problems. I think that all the staff and doctors do a wonderful job and work very hard under terrible conditions i.e. abusive patients, poor social status, and deprevation. Thank-you very much to all the wonderful higher broughton health centre staff. You do a wonderful job.

I phoned this mornig at 9.00am and was spoken too (for a better turn of phrase) by some receptionist in a very off hand manner. I explained I'd been in agony all weekend with a tooth absess and needed to see a doctor today for a course of antibitics. I was finaly given an appointment at 1.20pm I politly asked if there was anything earlier and was told I was lucky to be seeing anyone at all on the same day. when I arrived at the health centre to inform them I had arrived I was fronted be the same female who took the appointment who was busy sending a text on her mobile phone,I was abuptly asked who I was and then told to take a seat. it doesn't sound much my complaint on paper but have been attending highter broughton health centre for years and find the staff very unfriendly and cliquish. one of the staff was attempting to type something on the keyboard with one hand, while the varnish was drying on her finger nails on the other. while waiting for my turn to see the doctor I noticed other patients treated with contempt.
