Good Points: The hotel was warm, comfortable and welcoming. Staff were friendly. Bad Points: The room needed redocoration. General review: The hotel is large and cleary hasn't been refurbished since the 1980s so a major refurbishment woulld be costly and time-consuming. Its location is excellent and it has great potential, but such quick improvements as re-grouting the tiles, replacing melted lampshades ans filling holes in wardrobe doors would go a long way to bringing the accommodation upto the standard of the general hospitality here.

A lovely hotel, relaxing, attentive staff, good food and plenty. Do not be put off when you arrive as the exterior of the building is rather grotty and needs a lick of paint and a gardener to sort out weeds and dead plant pots. Such a shame, this really lets down the hotel. All said and one we had a lovely restful holiday and would return.
